A podcast exploring the Philadelphia stand up comedy and rock scenes. Hosted by standup comic Chris Kay and rock guitiarist, Julie Exter of Sacred Monsters, the podcast features interviews with local comedians and rock bands to find out what makes them get up on stage. We want to know what makes local artists tick. Each episode will feature a local artist and a discussion of what makes them, and Philadelphia, unique.

Bobby was a Mormon in the Navy in a landlocked state. How's that for an opener. Our guest this week performs in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Bobby talks about growing up without coffee, living in Kentucky, and escaping zombies at a private compound. He also talks about the difficulty creating opportunities for comics, runnign open mics, and running comedy shows, while trying to find the time for your own comedy.

Steph is a local musician who has been with her band, Midheaven, since the early 2000s. She's also a childhood (and current) dfriend of cohost Julie Exter. Comic Lilly Flynn got her start in college, at Millesville where our previous guest, Rasheed Wesley Jr. first started standup. After a break, she started again in the same comedy class Chris was in. Since then, Lilly has performed all over the region.
