S1:E19: Stop, Drop, and LOL

New format! We changed it up a little. Now you get to hear from us for a full episode every other week. This week, we talk about everything important with rock and comedy, especially Panera's seasonal soup offerings. Chris takes you through his first every standup set, and Julie takes you throught the beginning of the evolution of a song. Oh, and we discuss Katy Perry launching into the heavens on the world's largest Hitachi Magic Wand. All this and more. 

S1:E18: Sludge

Our favorite band, Sludge, is finally in the studio with us. We became fans of Sludge when they became super fans of the podcast. On this epsiode, we talk to these high school grunge rockers about their band, their experience performing, and how Sludge came to be.
Chris and Julie, meanwhile, have tales of woe that include a baby firing from both ends, and a McDonald's bathroom encroachment. 

S1:E17: Richie from Rock N' Roll Knife Fight

This week Julie and Chris went to see Sludge at their show at a store in Lansdowne called Rock n' Roll Knife Fight. We got the opportunity to talk to the store owner, Richie, and he is our guest this week.
In Richie's words, Rock n' Roll Knife Fight is punk Walmart. You can find shirts, posters, stickers, and stuff you just won't find anywhere else in the area. We learned you'll also find an amazing community of "weirdos" that supports local music.

S1:E16: Rescue Pets

Sam from Rescue Pets joins us this week to talk about her journey to putting out her own music and the vulbnerability that entails. Sam was a huge reason we ended up at the Gem and we talk about how we failed her as a friend. We are also treated to Julie's favorite Rescue Pets tune, "Orbit" and the premier of "Hands and Knees". 

S1:E15: Comic Bobby Boardman

Bobby was a Mormon in the Navy in a landlocked state. How's that for an opener. Our guest this week performs in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Bobby talks about growing up without coffee, living in Kentucky, and escaping zombies at a private compound. He also talks about the difficulty creating opportunities for comics, runnign open mics, and running comedy shows, while trying to find the time for your own comedy.

S1:E14: Stephanie Sky of Midheaven

Steph is a local musician who has been with her band, Midheaven, since the early 2000s. She's also a childhood (and current) dfriend of cohost Julie Exter. Steph talks about her music, and her musical start with Julie. Not only are we sure that Steph will survive a zombie apocalypse, we are also sure that God's Hippie Bus needs to be recorded. Just listen. You'll see.

S1:E13: Comic Tata Sherise

Comic Tata Sherise, this year's Phillie's Phunniest Winner was our guest this week. We explored the hard hitting topics regarding the Philadelphia comedy commynity including whether it smells like cheese at a swinger's club, what it's like to Crip Walk with Jim Gaffigan, and why you always want to get the titties out of the way. 
We also discuss last week's comedy show at the Gem, Sacred Monsters shows in State College, and a very special announcement about our next comedy show at the Gem on April 17!

S1:E12: Comic Eric Mount

Eric was one of Chris's first comedy friends. And let's face it, he is one of Chris's only friends. Eric started comedy with the mindset that you have to create your own opportunities and that you can do that while building community. We talk about everything from the standup comedy writing process to coconut in candy to the Doozler.
